hard to say. Quit tody, tho. Smoking impairs your healing, complicates your surgery and recovery.

If your orientation is 3.5 months away, then your surgery is even farther out than that.  Quit now.  They will want you to have quit a minimum of 6 months.  If you have not quit or had the six months of non-smoking it will delay the surgery date.

If a pack last you two weeks, then I'd say quit now. it shouldn't be too hard.
They'll ask you that at orientation.
and it'll likely be more than 6 months from now to your surgery, but might as well get a head start on it.

Some of the centers won't book your appointments with the nurse/nut/SW et****il you've been smoke free for 3 months.  So I would stop now.

I remember at my orientation they were very serious about being smoke free for at least 6months and stressed that point quite a few times of the course of the appointment and even told one lady that she would not be given anymore appointment dates until she had been smoke free for at least 6 months, so I agree with everyone else, you are better to quit now than chance all your other appointments being pushed back or put on hold.

I was smoke free 3 months at orientation and they made me wait till I was 6 months before I could even call and book my first appointments.
