Carol - it seems that RNY is a last-resort treatment. There are several others that might be expored to deal with the paralysis of your stomach, such as medications.

An RNY is quite a drastic surgery, and is not uncomplicated. It might give you MORE problems rather than less ... worth examining closer.

Here's some info from the American College of Gastroenterology

Hi Gabygee,
Thanks for your post...I have tried meds & don't have much faith in the pacemaker.  I am ready for rny & am optimistic.  Here's hoping.

Hey Truckingbride,

thanks for this, sounds like it was a last resort & is optimistic.

I am not vomiting, certain foods I can't eat like raw veg, meat...so I have been eating so much sugary carbs that my bmi is >40....crazy....

Here's hoping rny will be my saving grace.
