Question of the week - for post ops
on 10/25/11 1:41 pm
I am a slow looser.... I am sure my local peeps are tired of me talking about that our our meetings.
I seem to drop all of sudden; based on feedback from close friends/collegues.
Tricks:
- must have protein
- must not skip meals
- must be hydrated
- must adjust intake based on exercise (ex: perhaps a bit more calories after a workout)
and for me: exercise is a must.
- must have variety in physical activity

Now that being posted some of us lose more slowly and some much faster. I have now lost 90 lbs in 3 months, but I believe most of that was due to the problems I had with my strictures and being on fluids for a long time.
Allyson
from there it was usually 9lbs a month until my 6th month and then it went 6-7 from there,
I never hit a stall, my loss was slow and steady.
But your a guy so your weight loss will likely be completely different.
but everyone is different,
i've heard people losing 20lbs a month the first few months and then hit a major stall for a month. In the long run it won't matter, you'll get there.
It's frustrating but look at the big picture.
I have it written down but this is what i can remember my losses looking like.
4 months - 65lbs
6 months - 85 lbs
9 months - 105lbs
12 months - 120.
..fact is...there is NO point...as long as you are following the guidelines set out for you by your clinic/physician it will work
Tricks..don;t believe there is such a thing....quicker weight loss...my suggestion would be NOT to fool around with such an idea..you could RISK hitting a plateau that may last for
a long time and that you definatly won't want to do.
Start moving more, exercising adding new things to your daily routine, park further away form the mall doors when shopping or 2 blocks further from work...do mor ethings to kick in your HEALTHY...the rest will happen when your body is good and ready and at a pace that is right for your body (not your brain)
I don't believe I wrote it down anywhere...my doctor has it but I didn;t keep a journal/diary of any type...all I can vouch for is in my signature line
almost 3 yrs post-op and maintaining a 110-114lb weight loss.
it does get tougher to lose and maintain as time goes on.
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
