Stall is finally over

Whew! I want to thank everyone who offered support when I had my post-op stall! Being stuck at 287 pounds week#2, and #3 was very discouraging. But I took your advice and put the scale away for a bit, and focused on my protein, water vitamins and activity. I am weighing on the first of every month now and I am happy to report that on Sept 1st (wk 5 and 2 days) I was down another 10 pounds....yay. Although my weight loss is a bit slower than others, I am more than happy to take it instead of my pre-op life!

Thanks again!

Yay Kirsten!   You have taken positive steps in your relationship with the scale.  Congratulations on your progress....yes YOUR progress as it is so individual.

I'm constantly impressed with the advice and encouragement on this site.  We have a lot of smart people supporting here.  I wonder if the clinics realize how important this resource is.  Congrats on the loss - you go!

Thanks! Only 23 pounds were since the operation. The rest was from before. I am not one for groups, so the support on this site has been essential to me and I am grateful for it!

Hi,

I totally know how it feels!

First week out - 9 pounds gone.. woohoo (305)
2nd week out..-  3 pounds.. hmm.. stopped losing after the first few days of that week..  (302)
3rd  week out.. up a half.. then down a pound.. (301.6)
almost 4 weeks.. up a half pound?????  WTF???  (302.2)

This is so frustrating!  I was losing more before the surgery!  I know it will pass but grrrrrr!  Not sure if I could handle not checking daily to be honest.  I would be so depressed if i got on after a month and hadn't lost - or God forbid had actually gained!!!!   You are a strong woman to be able to do that!

I'm so glad you broke your stall for two reasons.. One - for you.. that's awesome!!!!  and two - gives all of us coming after you some hope that stalls DO actually break!  LOL

All the best,

Laura
