MY FIRST OPTIFAST SHAKE!!!

 As I have said before, I am very thankful for this website!  I have never been so thankful as I am right now!  I have just finished my first vanilla shake and....it wasn't bad, it was pretty good!  And I am a picky eater!!!  It sort of takes like cake batter!  I am sooo thankful that it wasn't as bad as I thought!  I am sure I will be sick of it soon enough but at least I can tolerate it without any additives right now.  I love that I was more scared of this than the surgery and I can put that to all the comments I've been reading about this nasty drink.  Now I know I will be fine.  I don't think I will be worried at all now!  Wahoo!!!!  Thanks OH Ontario Forum!!!!

that's wonderful, you have began ths journey with a positive attitude and that will help you when you face the obstacles in teh future..you will also learn how to add sugar free syrups to make your protein shake(tailored) for your tates.

I just bought some SF Hazelnut and SF chocolate and SF watermelon (for slushies) for the summer.

It's all about making things work for you.

I have just had 1/2 cup of beef broth.  I wonder if it's all in our minds?  I guess I will have another shake in an hour or so.  SF watermelon...yummy, sounds good.  I am in a house with a full watermelon cut up & ready to eat....I want that so bad right now!!! ha ha!!  Mind over matter, mind over matter!

i loved this post, the optifast stage was worrying me more than the surgery also.  Although i am a ways off of having mine. 

You are so close now, how exciting!

What great news to read! Thanks for letting us know that the Optifast wasn't a problem for you - I guess everyone's taste IS really different. I sure hope that I share your feelings when it's my turn. Good for you!

I liked the taste of Optifast too.  I did 2 weeks and found it much easier that the 2 weeks post op of clear fluids.  I drank my opti in funky glasses.  It's all in the presentation sometimes. It's also really satisfying to see the pounds dropping off too!!! Good Luck.
