Anyone here have the knee replacement?  I am being referred to a specialist to talk to him about having one.  Yes I am young, but after 11 years of pain with it and falling last month cause it gave out, causing a PCL tear I am ready to have a decent knee again.  The ortho I saw today said something about my fibro being a factor as to not have the replacement!  WTH?  My knees arent bothered by my fibro! Its my arms, shoulders, ankles, and hips!  So I will see what they say!

Hi Casey, I agree, I don't see what a knee replacement has to do with Fibro ? It usually does not effect our knees. Who knows how some of these docs come up with their info.                                                  Good Luck

I had my knee replaced about 3 years ago and am fighting not to have the other one done.  I believe that my fibro does affect my legs the most and I have not really been happy with my knee.   Sorry I don't have a better answer.  I think everyone is different and if it doesn't affect your legs as much as mine does, it probably will be great.

I am getting a revision of my gastric bypass to the extended one. Both my knee's are shot and I have fibro but I have bone on bone in both knees's so I don't think it is due to fibro maybe alittle but I have true ostearthritis that is shown on my MRI's that keep getting worse. I am plannig for my gastric revision soon and soon as I loose 100 lbs I am going to start with my right knee cause thats the worst. I hope this helps.
