my dad has this. my aunt had it but, she has passed. dad is taking prednisone, but dr. is wheaning him off. i don't know why. what are your symptoms, if i may ask. he seems to be getting alzheimers i think. his hands and arms hurt so bad and his legs. but when he had a real bad flare he was in hospital. arms and hands were so tight and swollen. anything you can tell me i appreciate as he forgets everything. thank, good luck to you. hugs, kath b.

My husband has it.  He is on steroids, and, unfortunately has already last an inch in height (due to bone loss).  I think the doctor hopes to wean him soon; in the meantime he also put him on Actonel to hopefully slow the bone loss.  He is in a lot of pain on an almost consistent basis. Between you and me, I think he should be doing more, swimming or water therapy/exercises and I would think some changes to his diet, but I can't convince him.  I tried but I am also dealing with my after WLS issues, and darn it, he has to do this himself. Best to you and hope you find the therapy you need to be alleviated from this discomfort soon!
