If I remember this theory right . . . there are some manufacturing processes that use very high temperatures in isolating the protein from their source food. Some people believe that those super high temps will denature the protein, thereby decreasing the biological value or bioavailability of the protein.
Even if you hold to this theory, it's really only an issue in certain manufacturing processes of protein powders. Coffee is definitely not hot enough to denature your protein in your protein powder.
