Just Denied

I just received a call from my surgeon's office stating that my surgery is denied because BC/BS does not approve "two stage procedures." My VSG was my one shot. The insurance handler at the office wants me to give my surgeon permission to appeal on my behalf but says it "doesn't look good" based on their reasoning.

I'm just devastated.

HUGS and im very sorry for your disappointment Babette...but ..

honestly what did you expect? For almost everyone the first bariatric surgery is a one-and-done insurance wise. You COULD have insisted on an RNY or a DS. You didn't . Now paying for the next needed step is up to you..

But the good news is you can still make your sleeve work...

You are a horrible person. You want sympathy for your many problems, but you cannot muster one jot of sympathy for anyone else.

What is wrong with you? I usually ignore you because you clearly have a lot of problems but this is a bridge too far.

First off, many people *****vise to the DS actually have RNYs. Quite a few, actually.

Second, you are not her surgeon. You have no idea what surgery was appropriate for her at the time.

Third, are you on drugs? Seriously, what is wrong with you?

I follow a ketogenic diet post-op. I also have a diagnosis of binge eating disorder. Feel free to ask me about either!

Two stage procedures? How is it considered two stages?

I'm guessing the OP has a VSG and now wants a DS?

OP had VSG in 2010 and has shared (in previous posts) she is interested in revision surgery due to weight regain.
