Such a Difference in 5 Months

My little dog and I went for a long walk today, and it felt so good to walk right on by the bench I used to sit on while waiting for my back pain to go away.  Then, I would either find another bench or find a tree to lean on, while I again, waited for the back pain to lessen so I could walk on.

Now, we walk for 2 or 3 miles without resting at all.  These 5 months have been incredible in so many ways.

This was the best victory I experienced after surgery as well! Every activity I performed was with an eye towards when I could sit again to alleviate the back pain. It is so nice to walk my dogs knowing I can actually give them some exercise. Congrats!

It's awesome,  isn't it?  I had RNY on the same surgery day as you and I feel like a completely different person.  Congratulations!

Thanks for posting this!  I can hardly wait to be on the same page.  I had to walk all over the place yesterday for my pre-op appointments and I'm down for the count today.  UGH!

Boy, does this resonate with me.  Walking used to be my worst nightmare.  It was a constant search for the closest bench, because I certainly couldn't fit into a chair.  My back would scream in pain if I walked 50 feet.  Not anymore.  I find joy in walking, clearing my head while listening to music.

Keep up the great work!
