The saga continues...

I got a call from my surgeon's office bright & early this morning saying that they had received my weights from one of my doctors and my BMI for 2012 was 34.5.  BMI for 2011 was 31.   Well, it's not like this is new to them--I was very clear and open about my weight history. The fact is, i DID lose about 55-lbs 2 years ago. My BMI was >35 in 2009-2010, and again in late 2012-2013. It's really just one year, 2011, that's the big deal. She asked me to send in pictures from 2011 & 2012, to "prove" that I was still obese. She can't use those weights.

*sigh*...I have called every doctor I have now to request that they send every weight they've recorded since 2009.  Hopefully, we can find a way...I'm sure there are people here that think, well, if she can lose 55-lbs once, she can do it again. The thing is, when the BMI was 31 it made not one iota of difference in my sleep apnea, diabetes and high triglycerides.

Ugh. I'll just keep plugging away at it. Sometimes I wonder if this is God or the Universe or my inner child or whatever trying to tell me not to do this.

It's all of the above telling you not to do it. Really listen to your heart. You know the answer God has given you to following his will. Look deeper. "BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD"

Hmm, not sure how you can presume to know what "God" is thinking. 

Mustlovepoodles: These insurance requirements are so wacky! Seems there's no rhyme or reason to some of them. I hope you are able to get everything submitted soon and that you get approved quickly!

Just to settle everyone's negative response I was quoting a verse from th e bible and when a person says she believes there is a feeling that God might be telling her not to do it. I believe we should listen to what are feeling God is putting in our hearts and if her heart says no I only said to listen to that. I would never tell a person NOT to do the surgery. Sorry you felt offended.

Just because your RNY didn't work out well for you doesn't mean you have a hot line to God and should be telling others what He wants them to do. The OP has diabetes and high triglycerides, and she's planning on having the DS, the surgery with the very best stats for resolving those conditions.

Hmm, I'm not sure how to take this. Are you being sarcastic?   Is there a reason why you would recommended that I not have this surgery?

Judging from her recent posts, she seems to be on a tiny anti-WLS crusade. Things didn't work out for her, so now she thinks no one should have WLS. 

I just believe we all have choices, weather or not the surgery was a success for me does not mean I would tell a person what to do in making such a life changing decision just take the time
