Louisiana Medicaid Doc?

Does anyone know of a physician in Louisiana that takes Medicaid for bariatric surgery?

I'm not sure and the Louisiana board isn't very active but I have seen mention of various doctors before.  You may find someone here: http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/LA/3462515/MEDICAID-AND-ME DICARE-SURGEONS-LIST/  For some reason the link didn't work, let's see if this does, sorry.

Finding a surgeon that accepts LA state insurance is tough since they pay so little. Here is a link of surgeons in  your area.  Give them a call and see if they take your insurance.  Dr. Chung use to but we are not sure if he does now.

Just a thought.... You may want to contact the Bariatric Surgery Center at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.  They are a large hospital.  They may know which physicians take Medicaid in that area or who to contact if you live in a different area.  The main number to the hospital is 225-765-6565. 

I am still looking but found a few. My PCP is with Ochsner and she gave me a referral to the Ochsner surgery department. I schedule a seminar and was told they take it. I also called whyweight.com surgical specialist of Louisiana and they told me no but the referred to LSU and LSU does. I also hear Tulane does but they have no dates for a seminar. I will update after my seminar...July 24th..... I say just go to a seminar and they will tell you about   insurance ...
