Hunger or pain

Five days post op RNY. How can u tell difference between hunger and pain in ur pouch/stomach. I've ate 1/4 teaspoon of jello for breakfast and 1 teaspoon of broth for lunch. I don't think I'm hungry. But not sure

It could also be dehydration.

I think that is why you should be eating on a schedule, in small amounts ... Because you can't really judge for yourself at this stage.

 

Stay hydrated and eat according to your doctors plan.

Instructions say don't eat unless ur hungry don't eat cuz it's time. I drink a lot.

Well, that's bad advice. Right now you can't tell if you're hungry or not---your insides have been through a lot of trauma and your nerves aren't transmitting proper signals. Measure your food and eat it on a schedule. Drink constantly.
