Green light from the specialist!!!
**This is my experience. I am NOT medical professional.**
Yeah!! I've been going through the process, but really needed the blessing of my hematologist. I got it!!!
I have Von Willebrands (blood doesn't clot like it should) and need to have an infusion of a drug before any surgery. I've never had surgery so I wasn't sure what his take would be.
He actually said the VSG was the better option for me because it was less invasive and the after-care for my condition is better.
He said with RNY I'd need two more infusions AFTER surgery, but with VSG I'll only need one. Yippee!!!
Moving forward and excited!!

Very exciting! I have ITP (idiopathic thrombocytopenia), although currently have no symptoms and platelet levels are normal. I totally understand your excitement, as I've also been cleared by my Hematologist for surgery! I'm not sure what they will have planned for me beyond Lovenox, and compression socks, but I can't wait! Congrats!
