pop tarts advertisement on this web site?

Why would this web site have a pop up ad for pop tarts?  Doesn't seem like something I'll ever be eating again.

And who only eats one when they come two in a pack?  I seem to recal Paula Poundstone has a good bit on this.

The pop-up ads are generated by websites that you have visited.  Based on what seems to be of interest to you.  Mine are usually for beauty supplies and plastic surgery.  If I go to a pet site, then I will get pet supply pop-ups for a while.

My ads are generally for skirts, shoes, and scuba travel or gear!  But I have an uncanny way of ignoring ads that come oup on most all sites.  I just tune them out.  Unless, of course, there's a cute skirt or a cool travel destination there!  :)

OH has no control over these ads at all. I had contacted them about it when those things first started appearing. I was getting Dunkin ?Donuts and Baskin Robbins all the time.

The ad bar at the top of the forum is google's and while you can turn some categories off, you are very limited in how many, unfortunately food is lumped with nutritional supplements like proteins and vitamins. Turn food off and you lose the other.

The chat bar at the bottom, they have NO control over those ads.

It is a pop up bar at the bottom.  I dont really care about it - I just wonder how they computer thinks this is something I'd want to see.

The pop up at the bottom is the chat bar aka Meebo. You can disable it in your profile if I remember correctly but doing so will leave you unable to chat with any friends on here.
