I have a breadmaker and would absolutely love it if anyone had any recipes that was low carb- high protein.

Thanks in advance,

I have a couple of my own bread machine recipes, which I believe are yummy.  They are not low-carb, because they are bread!  I would also like to know how to make fresh home-made bread that is low in carbohydrates.

I'm not sure if you are joking around or not.  I'm kind of gullible sometimes.  If there is such a thing as low-carb fresh home-made hot out of the oven bread that is very delicious, then I would be very happy to get that recipe, too!

You have to play around with your recipes, but it is entirely possible. I replace each cup of flour with 1/4 cup wheat gluten, 1/4 cup wheat germ, 1/4 cup flaxseed meal, 1/4 cup whole wheat flour and one egg.  You can try a small batch that you knead by hand and bake to see if you like it.  The smell of the yeast baking is wonderful.

here is a recipe I found in my breadmaker book. (I've not tried it, so can't vouch for it)

for a 2 lb. loaf, place in maker in order listed:

buttermilk 1-1/2 cup
honey 1-1/4 Tbls
salt 3/4 teas
whole wheat flour 1-1/4 cups
vital wheat gluten 2/3 cup
barley flour 2/3 cup
almond flour 2/3 cup
soy protein 2-1/2 Tbls
flax seed 2-1/2 Tbls
yeast 2-1/4 teas

bread slices better when completely cool

Nut info per 1 ounce:

55 cal; 7g carbs; 4 g protein; 1 gram fat

From WWW.Livestrong.com website:
Low Carb High Protein Gluten bread
5 cups vital wheat gluten
3 large eggs
1 cup water
1 tbsp rapid rise yeast
1/4 cup pure canola oil
1/4 cup cane sugar
1 tbsp salt
Place all ingredients in can of large cPcity bread maker and close lid and process for a large size loaf.
You will be tempted to leave out the sugar, but do not ,it feeds the yeast.

Prep time 60 min
Cooking time 25 min
serves 32
Yield one 2# loaf
Cal per slice 115
Totl fat 2.22
Sat fat 0.27
Choles 17.81
Sodium 283.31
Total carb 9.09

Good luck and let us know how it turns out! I have been meaning to make it myself.
