I take measurements monthly: neck, bust, both upper arms, waist, hips, both thighs.  I document the measurements and how much has changed from month to month.   Every few months I total up my total inches lost from beginning to current.  It's a great way for me to keep myself motivated and 100% compliant.  :)

Measurements taken on 6/30 indicate..... I have lost 131 inches since beginning my weight loss odyssey.   Highest weight:447   Current weight: 168   Oh ya!!!

That's awesome :D  I wish I had started measuring more than I did - I only measure chest, waist and hips.

I measure the same things that they do at my Bariatric program.  I've dropped 6 inches from my neck and 20 inches from my upper arms alone.  I have also gained 1/2 inch in height.  It estimated at the amount of weight I will have lost, I will eventually gain anywhere from 1 - 1 1/2 inches in height.

I would love to gain height, but I doubt that I will.  I've been this height since I was my goal weight!  But we'll see :)

It is amazing when I look at my stats.  At my highest, my waist was larger than I was tall!

That's AMAZING!  I sure wish I'd taken measurements before I started the whole process.  I think I just didn't want to know back then - lol!

Tracy -

I am so glad I did when I started my journey.  It is staggering when I see the numbers, just how large I was compared to now.  Though I will admit that when I look in a mirror, I think I look "big".  But in reality, I am actually becoming quite thin.  (I would be a heck of a lot thinner if I didn't have soooo much skin!!  But at almost 280 pounds lost so far...it is just part of the package.)

I love the fact I can step onto one scale (I used to have to weigh on two - one foot on each scale - and add the numbers together).  I love the fact that I can now shop in a "normies"  store.  Mind blowing for me who used to have to order clothes on line when at my heaviest.
