Yesterday,  was a milestone event for myself.  A few years ago, I was seriously ill.  It was doubtful at the time, with my life threatening medical condition, if I would ever lead a normal life...let alone be healthy!  7 Specialists have worked diligently over the past 5 years to get me healthier and yesterday this "former 447 pound/84.5 BMI person" completed her first 5K!

I wasn't first to cross, but I wasn't last either.   In fact, there were several other 5K walkers who crossed the finish line behind me.  As my foot crossed over the finish line, I burst into tears, overwhelmed by what I have accomplished so far...massive weight loss and completing a race that my various Physicians were worried I physically wasn't quite up to being able to complete yet.   The race posted my "crossing the finish line" picture on their FB page today with the following statement: "***** ***** A hero from our race yesterday. Her first 5K. She did a lot more to prepare for this than you can ever imagine."

Elina and Frisco,

Thank you for the kind words.  It was an amazing experience.  I feel truly blessed by the life improving opportunities I am being given almost daily as a result of having surgery.

This is my time to "take my weight loss to the max" and accomplish all I can weight loss goal-wise and personal goal-wise.
