2 month update

Hi all!  I like reading where people are at each month, so I will try to keep these up.  Wow - only two months! Seems like longer.  Since surgery, I am down 40 pounds.  Since my first appt for WLS in December, I am down 68 pounds.  Since last summer, I am down about 95 pounds.  I am so excited about the amount of life that has opened up.

Recovery was a bit rough until I turned a corner quickly at about 4 weeks.  I have felt great since.  I had a lot of hunger at first, but that has decreased.  I still misjudge my capacity at times and get foamies - but I am doing better.  I can eat about 2 oz of lean protein and maybe a bite of veggies.  The problem is that my mind thinks that veggies aren't filling and it wants to eat a lot of them.  After the protein, the sleeve is closed and the volume of more than a couple bites of veggies is too much - so I am being a lot more careful with them.  I usually eat about four of those meals a day and one of the meals is a protein shake.  The biggest mental change is that I used to look at the small amount of food and think it was ridiculously tiny.  Now, it seems normal to me and even seems like a lot!  I don't feel deprived at all!

Stalls! I did have a stall of about 10 days at the beginning of the month.  It is scary during a stall - worrying that I am not going to lose any more weight.  Then, when it broke, my fears vanished as I lost fairly quickly.  It really did feel like my body was kind of catching up.  At the moment, I have been stalled for 5 days - but I have also increased my weight training and my scale has bumped up for the % weight from muscle.

Exercise has been the biggest victory this month.  I feel soooo good from exercise.  It is nice to be able to have goals, accomplish them, and push further.  At the moment I do a long walk (45-60 min) twice a week, elliptical twice a week, walk/jog intervals twice a week an weight training 3 days a week. A few days ago I did walk/jog intervals for 50 minutes and felt good both during and after.  What a rush!

Favorite NSVs - fitting easily in all chairs, not feeling like I need to hide, hiking with others and keeping up, more energy, no back pain, motivation for everything in my life, crossing my legs....I could go on and on.

I'm very grateful for all of this improvement.  Thanks for all of your support, wisdom and guidance.

Good progress. On my 2 months now, down about 30 lbs. Stalls a few times, otherwise similar experience. I have trouble not drinking fluids before/after that is part of it.
