My in -laws got Thai take -out and I had them get me a soup with broth. I started eating just the broth,  but I think there is some lime juice in it. I'm less than a week post-op, and can find nothing about lemon or lime juice in my nutrition packet.

I had a few sips before I remembered the lime,  tolerating fine but I stopped. Too fresh for the lime I wonder?  Maybe I should just toss it?

I am speaking PURELY from speculation here, BUT, I don't THINK the acidity of lime juice would even compare to the relative acidity of your actual stomach acid.  I think that it is all about whether or not your body tolerates it well.  I would be on the look-out for feelings of heartburn and take it slow.  Again, pure speculation, maybe somebody with more experience has better words of wisdom about this.

I wouldn't worry about lime juice in broth.

I would like it would be fine in broth. I am over a year out and still have issues with lemonade. I lovedddd pre-op but I just cant do it, I've tried twice since surgery both sugar free but it just is an uncomfortable burning feeling. I have however used lemon, lime, orange juice (fresh) in recipes with no issue.

I'm allowed to drink crystal light lemonade post-op, and water with lemon if I wish, so I feel like you'll be fine.

I drink lemen and lime ade almost all the time since surgery.  No problems for me.  I think if it doesn't cause you irritation, it should be fine.

One of the interesting facts is that lemons and limes are alkaline forming. Although they are acid by nature, in the body they are alkaline forming because of their mineral content. vinegar is rated very acid at (-39) while lemon is alkaline at (+9).
