Feeling full

I've been really careful to not over eat and measure what I put on my plate. I often feel stuffed and am wondering if I need to cut back so I'm not stretching out my pouch. I typically eat 3/4 of a cup of food.  Is that stuffed feeling ok? There is such little difference between still hungry and totally full.

My dr says to stop if you feel full and don't over do it

If you are feeling over full then I would say that you are eating too much.  I do not know how much 3/4 of cup is.  I do everything by weight.  You are not very far out so I was able to eat about 1 -2 oz of dense protein and maybe a bite of a vegetable but not usually.  Also the more dense protein you eat the fuller will probably feel and it will stay with you longer.

3/4 of a cup is 6 ounces.  It is a lot.  I'm not allowed more than four ounces (tops) for six months.

What are you eating? 3/4 of a cup is 6 ounces.  I was told to start at one to two ounces and not to ever exceed four.  You should stop eating before you feel full.  Eat until you feel satisfied.  Hope that helps!

I'm eating mushy food. I was told to start at half a cup and my dr said to just stop when I was full. Full seems to be the difference between one bite and another.

Have you met with a nutritionist?  I'm still pre-op, but mine gave me very specific guidelines about how much I should eat per meal (2-3 oz) and how I should feel afterward.

For me, full is the difference between one or two bites. Maybe eat a little slower and pay close attention to any cues your body might give you. Or perhaps stopping when you're satisfied, versus "full" because it turns to over-full so quickly. As well, I'm further out than you and I can only eat about 2 ounces of anything, so you might be overdoing it with 3/4 of a cup, even if it is mushy.

At only 1 month post-op, there's no way I could have eaten 3/4 cup of food at one time.  I think you are probably pushing it a bit.
