Question about insurance approval
Hello! I just had my last appointment with my PCP and will be able to submit my insurance information tomorrow. My question is how long did you wait before you started to call the insurance company to see if you have been approved or not and is there some type of claim number to give them or just your name and id/group number?
Thanks in advance for any responses!
It's different for everyone. I waited a week, but some people start the next day :) Honestly, I wish I HAD started earlier because if the kerfuffle that I had to go through with Cigna. They kept losing things and getting info twisted around. As the old saying goes, "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." Start squeaking whenever you want! You are the customer!! Good luck! Let us know when you get approved!
and ps- you shouldn't have to give them any sort of case number for them to look you up, but it couldn't hurt to have it on hand.

It all depends on your insurance co. I have Cigna and I went through hoops to get approved. I started calling a week after paperwork was submitted. Make sure that all Cigna requirements were met because they will deny you quick!
Did you get a letter from your PCP for medical clearance? That was what I was originally denied for and had to have my PCP write the letter. Good luck to you.
