After spending an entire day after surgery in the hospital throwing up everything they gave me...unless it was a very diluted apple juice, they finally found an anti nausea (through a lot of trial and error) that worked.

Home now - sipping on water, warm tea, chicken broth, sugar free popsicles and eating 1 sugar free pudding (to get down my remaining meds).

Am already off two medications as of day of surgery and have dropped 5 pounds.

I'm glad you're feeling better.

I had my surgery 10/31. I'm out of the hospital and feeling fine. I'm fortunate the anti nausea meds worked for me.

It's interesting how there are so many different post-op diets. Mine is clear liquids for a week, and then creamy liquids for 2 weeks. I guess it's different depending surgeons.

Good luck losing it. Keep us posted.

I totally agree, it begins to make you wonder what diet is the best...

I am on a modified liquid diet ...there's more options for me to try. But because my stomach had such a hard time with the almost continous vomiting, they have told me to slowly add in my other food options.

Gald to hear your are better on on the losers bench.  My surgery is due 12/13, so i love to read the posts of recent post ops.  Comparing your screen name to mine, it looks like we have another "something" in common.  I love cruising too, already trying to figure out how to maintain on the ship!

I am a huge cruise lover....sailed 16 times! I don't have any planned right now. Gotta pay the bills first. But when I do, can't wait to do it at a much smaller size. My highest weight cruising was 447 pounds. While I was as active as could be, I was limited on many things due to my weight.

You will have plenty of food options on a cruise (I just happened to have one scheduled at exactly 2 month surgiversary). I did fine.
