To all my Tall Ladies... Where do you buy your jeans? I am 5'10" and have been forced to buy from a single store since I've been at my highest (Maurice's). They weren't well made, but hey they were long enough and didn't give me a horrible muffin top. NOW, I want to wear CUTE jeans, dang it! The problem that I'm facing is that I have a VERY flat bum and every style is too baggy in the rear. Should I go with something with some stretch? I'M LOST HERE!! But it's such a fun place to be lost :)

For inexpensive, I'd try the diva cut in long at old navy. They run sales all the time. I have a flat rear, and they give me some oomph in that department. When you're at or close to goal, I have lots of designer jeans recs. they are worth the money when you want your bottom to look fab I have tried on tons of jeans in my quest.

I'll check on those! The last time I tried to buy jeans at Old Navy (eons ago) the "ripped and faded" style was all the rage. No thanks. Now that THAT fad has passed (mostly) I'll try them again :)

LOL.  I love destroy wash in my skinnies, but I totally understand not wanting to pay extra for someone to ruin your jeans :)  All the diva cut I have are either dark or medium wash - I've got some boot cut, some capris and skinnies.  I like them because they are made for "straight" body types, which seems to work better on my curvy, but flat butted body.  I don't get saggy bottom effect with them because they are really fitted in the thighs.  I have to size down in them, but who doesn't like a little vanity sizing?

I like to hear that they're tighter in the thighs. I'm having trouble with my jeans looking saggy. I have nice legs and I want to show them off!! I may even venture into a pair of skinnies now that I can wear BOOTS!!

DO IT!  I got my mom to even buy skinnies.  I LOVE them.  They are like wearing yoga pants or leggings bc they are so comfy.

Hi!  I work at Macy's in the "regular size" women's department, and I help A LOT of customers buy designer jeans.  I bought my 1st pair of size 16'Ws a few days ago and was sooo excited!  Can't wait to no longer need a plus size! You ARE on the taller size and I can't see you to tell if you have long legs or not, but are you near a Macy's?  If so, you can order a few pairs online, and then return at the store the ones that don't fit.  As far as brands go, the BEST jeans for the "muffin top issue" and length have been DKNY  and INC as well.  On these brands, a 32" length is often just fine - because if you look at the online details the length actually runs abt 33" .  I have to hem a 32" length significantly, even though I am 5'6".  Unfortunately, jeans are so varied today that many have to try on a lot of different brands to find their best fit.  I am just relaying what most of my customers who say they can't find jeans end up with.  I think you would do great in a 16W (regular length) as well- start there and let me know!

Good luck!

Eileen

I usually have to have a 34" inseam (or a Long style), and even then I have to say a prayer if they ever end up in the dryer, lest I end up with highwaters. Currently, I'm in a size 19/20. I'll check Macy's when I hit maintenance, but right now I REALLY don't want to spend big bucks on clothes. DKNY does have some really nice jeans though. Thanks for the tip!

I don't know about plus sizes, I didn't wear anything but Lane Bryant then, but when you are able to wear average size clothing...

JC Pennys has TALLS and LONGS. The LONGS are LONGER than the TALLS and only sold online/in the catalog. They only sell TALLS in store. Ann Taylor is great for professional clothes and the BUCKLE sells jeans all the way to 40 inches long.

Hope you have some luck.
