Newbie....Waiting on insurance approval!!

I have United Healthcare not sure how long they usually take but I'm anxiously waiting. How long did your approval take??

I have BCBS of Alabama.  Took about a week.  If you have not called the insurance company to check on status you should.  I called every 2 days.  They were very nice each time I called.  Best of luck to you.

I have Cigna and my paperwork was submitted this week so I'm also waiting!  Hope to hear from them in the next week or so.  Good luck on your journey!

I have United Health care and Optum RX - I have beastlike insurance. Its awesome. My suregery is 100% covered -  does NOT require a psych eval (even though doctors do) No 3 or 6 month supervised weight management program -  All labs, enestesia and medical services are included in the 100% - Only thing I have to pay for is Psych eval and Preop classes.(maybe 300) at most. I go for all my classes,  EDG, psych eval during week of November11th -20th -  If all goes well I can schedule surgery and thing with insurance to cover it. I JUST started this process September 10h (info classes) so its going really fast for me

I don't have United, but mine took two weeks.  I'm having surgery in less than a week!  The insurance approval wait was so hard, but not as hard as the pre-op. ;)

I'm also waiting for approval. i have a different insurance, its been 3 weeks and im still waiting. Tomorrow i have the day off so i will be calling to check the status.. I hope your approval goes faster because this anxiety sucks.

Thanks for the info. I see the insurance approval time varies from as little as 1 week to over 3 weeks. I guess its worth the wait I've been overweight for awhile I can wait a few more weeks.

I have UHC too, my last NUT ( my 6 months) is November 5th. I will then submit papers. I have done the NUT appointments ( covered 100 percent), did the sleep study, did the psych eval. I hope it doesn't take too long. 

Do UHC always require the 6 month supervised diet? When my doctor's office called to check my benefits they were told that it wasn't a requirement with my plan.
