Has this happened to anyone else?

Okay, sounds weird but here goes.  I am 8 months out of VSG and work out regularly.  The last 2-3 months I have been getting a "tinglely numb" area in my back under my left shoulder blade at about bra strap level.  It doesn't hurt, it just feels like when your foot falls asleep,.... kinda annoying.  When it started it was mostly only when I was working out but it has progressed to flaring up anytime I move around.  I talked to my Dr. about it last month at a check up but she said we would just keep an eye on it and it might resolve on it's own.  Since then it has intensified so I have done a little research and have found numerous posts on this being a symptom of Gallbladder trouble.  On my Barium Swallow I did indeed have a GB stone, but I have had it for more than 18 years with no symptoms, especially none like this.

Has anyone else experienced or heard of this?  I know GB problems can be a side effect of WLS so I thought I would check with you fine folks.   Thanks for any feedback

Certainly possible but I am mor apt to think pinched nerve or knot in a muscle inflamed by exercise. Try a massage before you get your GB yanked.

I'm inclined to agree with Keith. Try a massage or a chiropractor first before more surgery. I have definitely noticed some aches and pains in different places since my weight loss.

I'm guessing that our muscles and joints take some time to get used to carrying our lighter weight differently. I know I move quiet differently now to what I used to when I was a heffalump, so it kinda makes sense to me that things will need some readjustment, so do see a massage person and chiropractor every now and again.

If the symptoms came on with eating, I would think GB, but since it comes on with exercise I think Keith is probably right.  Goodluck!

thanks for the ideas and it only makes sense that it would be muscular skeletal  as moving sets it off and eating doesn't.   Now I want a massage ..... right now! lol

For me the same issue turned out to be my gallbladder. Was very surprised to learn this can be a symptom.
