1 week out, drinking too quickly?

I am 1 week out today and I am able to drink my shakes in as little as 15 minutes. Granted, I make them thin, using 8 oz of h2o to make a "shake" requiring only 4 oz. Kind of worried about being able to drink so much so quickly. I can get in 20 oz of water in

I week out I had hit my goal for fluids.  I could get my shakes down in about 15 minutes.  My shakes are Nectar and I make them with almond milk and they are really thin compared to the onces I had to take pre-op.  I can drink the shakes faster than I can water.  Any way at 1 week out I hit the 3 shakes with 24 oz almond milk and 64 oz water.

If you are not feeling any distress, then you should be fine. There is a wide variation in how we all respond to this procedure, how much inflammation we have after surgery, and how our pyloric valve passes liquids. I had no problem drinking (sip, sip, sipping, of course) a bowl of soup (6, maybe 8 ounces?) and a half cup of juice in one sitting in the hospital, while my wife, when she went through this a few years ago, could barely drink her nominal stomach size of shake in a sitting. Both were in the normal variations seen within the patient population according to our surgeon, so really nothing to worry about.

Thanks! After going through some of the other recent posts, I feel better. Had trouble getting anything down the first couple of days, but since then it's been pretty easy to do the liquids.

My doctor said if you can drink more do it. According to him you wont stretch your sleeve with liquids. Good for you. I have been working on my 8 ounce shake for 2 hours. I think my issue is just fear of drinking too fast and it hurting.
