Well today was the big day!  I've been semi-stalled in the 300-305 range for two weeks, really needed to kick up my game to meet one of my goals of being under 300 by Memorial Day.  I have been "on point" with my nutrition plan, but I will admit to slacking on the exercise regimen.  Always some excuse or another that I use to keep from working out.

Over the weekend, my cousin came from out of state, and I was worried because normally we would be hitting the rib cookoff, Greek festival, and probably a family picnic.

I was really good at sticking to my diet plan over the weekend, and cousin Martha kicked me back into gear with exercise.  3.3 mile walk on Saturday, 4 mile walk/jog yesterday.  Yes I said jog!  I haven't been able to jog in over a decade, and we started with 30 second intervals of jogging every few minutes during the 4 mile walk.  I did it!!!

This morning's weigh in was so worth all the sweat - 297.2 pounds!!!  First time under 300 since around 1998.

Feeling great... I want to set a fitness goal of running a 5K by the end of summer.  I need to commit to Couch to 5K, and I did download an app for the Droid today.  Tomorrow is day 1, week 1... I hope the 90 degree weather breaks before tomorrow evening!

Wow, that's great!!

If you let me know which race you plan to do, I'll try to come and run it with you, schedule permitting.  The weather can be tough this time of year - just be sure to stay well-hydrated.  Of course if you slog through the c25k over the summer, by the time fall comes around with the cooler temps, your weight that much lower, and the 5k under your belt, you'll really be able to rock in the fall races!
