Post op day #1

Sleeved yesterday at St. Vincent Charity in Cleveland. During surgery they found a hiatal hernia and repaired that too. It was a long day but I survived and walked a couple times last evening.

I haven't had too much pain today. Made multiple trips up and down the halls.

Just had my upper gi and there were no leaks or obstruction. Dr. Ben-Meir just brought me an orange Popsicle which is wonderful for my very dried out mouth and throat...

Home tomorrow if all goes well overnight. I am SO EXCITED to join the losers' bench!

Congratulations!  Sonunds like you are doing great.  Just keep walking and you'll do great tonight and be home tomorrow.

 Happy to hear everything went well, surgery buddy!  Stay on top of the pain and get those fluids and walks in!

Congratulations!  We share the same surgeon, and I don't have enough words to tell you how great he is.  We are in amazing hands with him.  Good luck to you.  By the way, what other doctors you know would ever come into your room bearing a popcicle?!!  I remember very well during one of his [many] visits- he saw that I was preparing to walk with the nurse.  He decided to take me for the walk himself. That was amazing.
