I agree with Donna and Sassyitalian.
I'm one of those people who always loved the man more than he could love me.  Now that I'm a mom and older, I am wiser.  I will not put myself in that position again.
My only advice is that if someone, anyone (not just this guy) brings out negative energy or emotions in you then keep them out of your life.  It's very difficult... VERY VERY VERY difficult!  But in the end it is worth it and eventually you will find yourself feeling light, free, and a whole lot better.
It's not just our food/body that needs detox, but our life, surroundings, friends, family, space, etc too!  There is a book I read called "Detox Your Life" and it touched on these topics.  Good read if you're interested.
Nonetheless, I wish you the best.  Just don't be so nervous.  Be yourself.  Mentally put yourself in a higher place.  Know that you are great, regardless of what he thinks or what he did all those years ago.  Just don't get your expectations too high.  Make the best of the situation.  Enjoy your time.  Let us know how it goes :)
You can also waste time getting your hair or nails done.  Get a massage or body scrub at the spa.  Or even get your makeup done at a makeup counter.  A few girlie things you can do to take your mind off food :)

Doc,

Somebody told once me that Having Food Thoughts + Not Acting On Them = Abstinence.

We have these food thoughts because we are food addicts.  I have food thoughts in response to almost any emotion.  You are doing the hard work of abstinence by not acting on them.  Yay for you!  That's recovery, not failure.

I hate how hard it is sometimes, and how it is hard even years out.  You are doing so well - just don't listen to the monkey.

Hugs back to you!

:) Happy

Awwwwwwww thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank youuuuuuuuuuu!
I completely  hear you.

I made it via HP and reaching out.  I am grateful I didnt cave in. I am grateful for using
the tools to get ut of my head.

We both made ammends to one another and then did a meeting last night.
it was very cool and we both got choked up.  It was a total spiritual program moment.

Last night when we sat in a meeting, I realized my prayers came true. it took 15 years
but it happened.  It was closure and weight lifted to be honest.  I am grateful to have walked through fear.

HP all the way!
