Almost 100 lbs lost .....

from my highest weight ever of 302lbs.  I weighed in today at 203, just 1 more pounds to go and I will have lost 100lbs.

When I started my journey on November 30, I weighed in at 291, so I am 12 pounds away from losing 100lbs from the beginning of my journey.

Both are just incredible to me.

I am still having issues with protein.  I have become lactose intolerant and I am unable to eat or drink anything that is overly sweet, so I have not been able to drink protein shakes.  When I do I get sick to my stomach and I hurt for over 2 or so hours.  When I eat I eat my protein first, but I can still only eat about 2 to 3 tablespoonfuls so that is not enough protein.  I do have high protein snacks that help but I have yet to reach my goal of 60 grams a day in protein.  I think the most I have gotten was 45 grams.

I am still working on it, and trying new things.  I eat high enriched protein during my meals.   So hopefully that helps.

Any advice?

Sheila

Check out this website.  www.theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com

Shellie is great.  She has so many great ideas.  I love her eggbites for breakfast.  She has all kinds of receipes for high protein snacks and meal ideas..

I eat alot of greek yogurt, Im not sure if you can have that or not with the lactose issues.

I log all my food on www.myfitnesspal.com.  You are able to make graphs for everything.  You can see your protein intake for a week and make changes.

Good luck ....

Great Job on the weight loss.

Congrats on your success!  You've done great!!

Sorry about your lactose intolerance and intolerance of sweet protein drinks.  My only recommendation is unjury chicken soup protein powder.  I'm not sure if it's lactose-free, though.  I like the syntrax nectar proteins, which are lactose-free, but I think they are all sweet.

Hi,

I have not been able to tolerate protein drinks since 2 weeks after surgery either. I just rec'd a new protein powder i can tolerate. I am so happy i am finally getting a minimum of 60 g protein a day now.

It is called 'healthy and fit' egg based protein from the vitamin shoppe.

I bought strawberry and vanilla. I prefer the strawberry. But both are ok. I add a small piece of a bananna into the vanilla one.

I mix it with soy milk. Have not tried it with water yet.

It is not GREAT tasting, but tolerable. I am lactose intolerant as well.

I think my body is not tolerating all the artificial sweetners in alot of the protein drinks. This product uses stevia instead of artificial sweenters.
It is made out of egg whites.

I'm lactose intolerant and Unjury is good for me.  No problem with it at all.

As for meat, I sometimes have trouble with chicken.  Then I just focus on fish (tuna, tilapia, salmon, pollock, etc).  Fish and ground beef seem to be easier for me.

Congratulations.  Keep trying on the protein. It's pretty important.

isn't pollock loaded with sugar? I know if it is the stuff they prepare in fish plants it is. I do have some though I use to love it in sandwiches but will have to look someday to see how much sugar is actually in it. I like it in salads as well.

I don't know. It was fish, and I ate. I'm not really knowledgeable about fish.  If it is, I have no problem never eating it again.

You did an amazing job, so proud. I was out today to get some more protein powder just because I need something I can drink easily and remember what the guy said to me about a month ago when I told him I think I was lactous intolerant so he suggest ISO sensation cookies and cream, I just got home and made some and it is good. It is made with water so you should do fine with it if you want to try some.
