It had to be Polish immigrants who started Pulaski Day out there, right? Because Pulaski himself was never out that way.

I've seen a lot of Polish American clubs, and most are named after him.

Yes, Polish immigrants. I am not sure if this still rings true but Chicago used to have the most Poles in a city outside of Warsaw. My area is an evolving melting pot

It was primarily Italian & Irish, then a mix with Polish, and now Latinos living amongst the rest of us mutts. Chicago is a city of 77 neighborhoods with each having a distinct feel and demographic.

I'd bet it was Poles when Chicago was full of slaughterhouses.

I lived in a polish neighborhood until I was 10. Pulaski was right up there with JP2 and Lech Walesa for a lot of people! If I remember correctly, he was recruited by Franklin, founded the cavalry as a division and died in Georgia? I think I saw a sign near Savannah.

Good Morning Queen JB and Meneurs,

Happy Marathon Day Queen JB and Grim. Have you ever run it before? Even on a relay or just a short version? My knees could never do it at my age I'm lucky to get in a 3-mile run lately.

Weekend was filled with Mom duty and a lot of excessive snacking. I stopped in to check on her 4x each day and we have been working on her refrigerator. When she was out of the house there was a power outage that caused the fridge to freeze up, so we unplugged it and thawed it out and the fridge and freezer work, but the icemaker took a dive. I hope he can get it fixed soon. I did do 2 gym classes this weekend, but I out ate any of the exercise I did.

QOTD: None that I am aware of.

Accountability: Way too much snacking.

Good morning. Home from Dad's, Brad's and a wedding. Very relaxing trip other than the driving. I'm up a few pounds. I've earned them all in the short term from trying every bite and sipping nice wine. But. I did not over do any thing. I enjoyed the options with a taste and moved on. The regular meals we were home for I cooked and paid attention to volume. I walked in the beautiful desert while the sun was setting and enjoyed perfect weather and amazing smells of spring. I could have done more, but I didn't and I'm ok with that.

Today, I skipped HITT as my favorite niece is in town and will be here any minute. She's posting up here to work for the day and I'll be in and out doing groceries, a work out and whatever and we'll be able to catch up in between when her work meetings take a break. Then my son is town for the day and we are meeting him at a Fortaleza Tequila event. I'll drive. Me and tequila is no bueno. Perfect excuse to keep my cals down, hug my kid and not be worried about driving home.

QoTD: Schools here get Cesar Chavez day. Other than that, I'm clueless.

Foods are completely TBD. Still freezer diving, but there isn't an item in the house that was grown in the ground and that will change with a trip to TJ's.

I keep missing photo Friday, so here's a photo of the ALMOST complete bathroom reveal. The mirror needs special hanging so that will happen soon.

Peace Everybody.
