I was just wondering what the appointment with Dr Glazer will entail? And if after you see him is it typically the time you meet with your surgeon and get a surgery date?

I know I should cool my jetts but I can't!!!

yes - LOL. Calm down... It will all be ok

Dr. Glazer is the one that will give the final yes or no.

It will all be ok - if he wants more tests done he will send you to have them done. If there is no need - no need.

He is just making sure that your risks are well managed for the surgery.

Best of luck

Dr Glazer is an internist.

That means he looks after the rest of your body while the surgeon looks after the surgery, the anaesthetist looks after your sleep and the assistants look after putting your innards back together.

That also means he is an extremely important person to your general well-being before during and after your surgery, because none of us go into the life-changing event without complications - whether it's high blood pressure, sleep apnea, arthritis, whatever.

He also happens to be one of the most empathic, efficient, caring and passionate doctors I've ever met - and he literally saved my friend Donna's life. She went in for her pre-op and suffered a cardiac arrest (which she did not recognize as that) on his examining table. He called a code blue, and within three minutes the crash cart from the ER was in his office. Meanwhile he worked on her, keeping her alive til they got her hooked up.

Besides my surgeon at HRRH (Dr. Starr), Dr Glazer is the doctor I would trust most at that hospital.

He'll do a complete workup of the rest of your body. Expect an EKG, a BP and possibly an endoscopy if necessary, as well as bloodwork.

I completely agree, Dr Glazer is amazing and now I know why he was so interested to hear all about my cardiac arrest! One of the most knowledgeable and caring Dr's I do agree.  I can't say enough about Dr Hagen as well, but after meeting Dr Kline and Starr post op (they all came to check on me) I have to say all our Dr's at HRRH are great. angry

Starting weight: 334 lbs.Starting opti weight: 323 lbs, Surgery weight 303 lbs.Surgery-May 21st, 2013 with Dr Hagen at HRRH Goal weight 165 lbs reached at 13 months. Current weight 156 lbs

My nurse today reassured me that i was in tremendously good hands at HRRH letting me know if Dr Huynh isn't available then Dr Starr Dr Klein and the other 2 surgeons who's names I can't recall were all there for me. This was very reassuring!
