Moving Along Now...

So, I had my nurse appointment at the OWMC this morning. She was pleased with my progress, changes and outlook. My bloodwork came back great. My B12, Iron and cholesterol is all good again and my blood pressure is coming down (still on the higher end of normal).

My beh/nut appointment is scheduled for May 9th. Other than that, all I need is abdominal ultrasound. She is not sending for a sleep study or a GI scope so I'm happy about that. She also said that although she isn't the one to make the call, she "doubts that the beh or nut would want to see me back" because of the positive changes I have made, the weight loss and attitude. She also said not to quote her on it, but she sees a September surgery date for me in the future.

Woohoo!  Finally. There's hope...maybe this will really happen after all! And before I'm old and gray! LOL

I just finished my Nut, Social Worker, Medical Internist, PATTS yesterday and got my clearing for surgery same day! No more tests needed! My surgery is May!

I also wrote a post last night about it moving along because I am sooo excited!!! It is the most amazing feeling knowing you are doing something so positive, that will change your life for the better!

Yes, it is exciting! I was so happy to get through this first appointment and have an idea of the additional testing that I would need. It turned out better than I thought it would. I can handle an ultrasound...lol

Is the OWMC in Ottawa? If so, where is it? it doesn't ring a bell.

It's at the Civic. That's where you'll be going, too. It's just the part of the hospital that deals with the bariatric and weight loss programs. So far the experience has been good for me and the staff has been friendly and helpful. I hope you find it the same! :)

Oh, and it stands for the Ottawa Weight Management Clinic....based out of the Civic Hospital.

Good to know because I googled OWMC and apparently we also have an Ottawa Withdrawal Management Centre. I wondered how we ended up there......
