When I was a teenager, my Baptist Mom just told me to abstain, and everything would be perfect!  LOL  Sorry, couldn't resist it!  Ian

I'd heard the same thing about the pill, so I tried the patch last summer and I had so many issues with it.  Increased pain, breakthrough bleeding, had to wear 1 1/2 patches as to not have breakthrough bleeding.  It just didnt work for me so I went back to the pill and it's been fine ever since.

I quite liked the ring in theory. It was so simple and I didn't even have to think about it but it gave me headaches because I have problems with estrogen. I am about to get Mirena which seems to be incredibly popular.

I use NuvaRing and absolutely love it. It's very effective and so easy to use, I only think about it once a month.

I can't speak for what BC would be best for you, I was however told the IUD should not really be used if you have not had children already.
I would talk to your public health nurse or doctor about the best options for you.

I use the Nuvaring and love love love it, its cost about $64.00 for 3 months, if you have beneifits through work however it maybe covered and its simple to use leave it in for 3 weeks out for one.

as far as the IUD most Doctors won't give you an IUD if you haven't had kids because it may cause scaring and make it harder to become pregnant in the future.... this is what I was told.
