PAATS????
Hey guys im hearing alot about PAATS test.. what does PAATS stand for ? when do these test take place ? and does everyone have to have one?

PAATS is PreAdmission Testing for Surgery - These take place at the hospital where your surgery is taking place . Mine is tommorrow for surgery next Monday and yes everyone has to take one
Surgery Date - AUGUST 22, 2011 - Ran first 5KM Race - Oct 14, 2012 (28 min) - Currently maintaining a healthy 190 lbs and training for my first half marathon in the summer of 2013

Hello,
I just had my patts appointment in Guelph ( on the 12th) and my surgery is on august 18th. At my appointment I met with 2 nurses and did my vitals, they asked me a bunch of questions, went over what will happen on surgery day, etc. Then I had a E.C.G (it took like 2 mins) and after that I had some blood taken. That was all I had to do. I know that each center is different though, and different people with different health status's have to do different things. Some hospitals make youe do nasal/ anal swabs, lung function tests, X-rays, etc.

Yes thank you it was very helpful.. I'm with TWH just waiting for my last couple of appts.. I cant wait... but curious of what test they will put me through ..
