I am 6 months out from surgery, my period have stopped. Is this from the large amount of weight loss?

Hi Kathryn! I find it interesting that your period has stopped. I've been so irregular for the past 23 years, and since my surgery I've had them like clockwork. I'm also 6 mos. out, down 90lbs, and I WISH they'd go away!! So my body's reaction to the weight loss has been just the opposite from yours. Curious, eh? Lizzie B

Hi Kathryn, I wouldn't worry about it. My pre-surgery nurse said , having surgery has a tendency to mess up our peroid's. I had my last one the day of my surgery, Haven't had one since ~ almost 2 months. Makes me happy. God bless you, Annette

Im not sure how old you are Kathryn, but could it even be the start of menopause rearing its ugly head? I wouldn't worry too much. If you go one year with no period, they usually consider you to be menopausal. If you don't think that is the case, maybe mention it to your doctor and they can check your hormones. Blessings! Colleen
