Hey all,

Can anybody share some recipe ideas with ground beef that does NOT include pasta?  I'm running out of ideas.

Thanks!

Don't know what you have already but I have done:

Chili
meatloaf without bread
eggs with ground beef
taco salad without the shell
ground beef frittata (sp) with veggies and cheese

Gosh, there are so many things. I just google ground beef dishes and SO MUCH POPS UP!

Good luck!

Swedish Meatballs - McCormick has a really good sauce that you can put over them:

Being the gluten free freak I've become (most of the time, of course) I've learned that I can eat many, many recipes and just omit the pasta or rice.  My current fave is a version of Stroganoff made with ground beef.  Click here for recipe  I make it and just serve it in a bowl for myself, and serve it over egg noodles or rice for my family.  You can do spaghetti meat sauce the same way.  I love it without the noodles.  Maybe I'm just weird!  Lol!  I eat burgers and sandwiches without the buns, pasta sauces without the pasta.  It's an adjustment, but you will grow used to it, I promise!  My kids would scold me if I were to serve my sauce over noodles or eat a hamburger with a bun.  They just KNOW that I don't eat that way anymore and it would appear strange to them if I did.

Lori, I just looked at the recipe.  Could I sub something for the cabernet or wine?  I've never cooked with either so I'm not sure what to buy.

Oh ... another would be shepherds pie!      Heavy on the beef ... lighter on the mashed potatoes!

Check out the ground beef section on linda's low carb site:

genaw.com/lowcarb/burger_recipes.html

I've had several things. The chili dog pie is really good (I make it with skinless sausage instead of hot dogs). The italian casserole is also good. I double up on the meat for that one.
