Question:
How am I to know if I'm transected if it doesn't say so?

I know much has been made available in the library about exactly *how* our pouches and "insides were re-arranged", but I'm still trying to see how my insides really are constructed...I had the Lap RNY in Atlanta (Dunwoody, GA) in September 2002. I have a copy of my operative report, and it doesn't actually come right out and say that I've been "transected"...I've gone over many times and just don't *see* it. This is confusing to me. I've been told here that most Lap RNY's are transected, and it doesn't indicate this in my report or medical records.    — yourdivaness (posted on March 4, 2003)

Have you contacted you surgeon? I would just ask him outright. I am concerned that it wasn't mentioned on your post-op report. I thought they were supposed to put everything they do in there.

Original Poster here~Special Heartfelt Thanks to the previous posters and all that follow my post right here. I Finally got a chance to speak w/my surgeon and found out I am *transected*. I was told that my surgeon doesn't do it any other way. I do appreciate the "gentle" way you asked me if I had called him. I will continue to ask questions IF I don't find the answer in the library. Just shows that you are as human as I am and that no question is a dumb one...only the one not asked. Luv, ~Hadiyah)
