Alvarado clinic and hospital in San Diego charge about $17,000 for open RNY, $22,000 for lap RNY (all-inclusive). Gallbladder removal is another 2 or 3 thou. My pre-op testing (incl. endoscopy) was another $5000 or so, but if you have insurance, that can probably be covered if your doctor lists your diagnosis codes correctly.

I live in the New Orleans area and my wls surgeron charges just under $20,000 for everything. This includes your pre-op testing your psychological eval, his fee and follow up for life, and all hospital charges. This includes a 5 day stay in the hospital. If you are sent early the hospital charges are less, of course.

I contacted Harold Robbins, MD office (Houston, TX), last year for a quote and they told me 5K for the Doc and 5K for the hospital for a total of 10K.

I am looking at having the surgery in San Antonio. $3500.00 for ALL doctors' fees and $5000.00 deposit to the hospital. They will let me pay out the rest. SHould be another$3000.00-4000.00. Dr. Selinkoff and Dr. Pilcher.

When I was searching here in Oregon, The doctor I talked to ballparked the cost at 17,000.00 for the whole shebang. Based on a 5 day hospital stay.
