Question:
Seattle-area fat-friendly gynecologist needed

Would especially prefer a female doc who could help document some of the problems I'm having that I suspect are weight-related (cystocele, rectocele, stress incontinence, etc.) I need my annual exam/Pap and all that stuff too. I've got Microsoft Aetna insurance and luckily, I can see anyone I like. Thanks!    — Julia Z. (posted on May 12, 2001)

I found one... I'm answering my own question in case anyone digs this up! :-) Her name is Linda (? hope I'm remembering that right) Chaput (rhymes with "slap you") and she is at the Lakeshore Clinic in Kirkland, 425-827-9711. I lucked into her, but she is fantastic! She is Canadian, and did part of her residency working for a doctor who did WLS... she assisted at some of the procedures and has seen and believes in the success stories of WLS! She was very positive and encouraging. She was also a good gynecologist. She was great, VERY helpful, when I found a lump in my breast two months ago. I recommend her without reservation to other fat women.

If someone is still looking... up north in Edmonds, Dr. Roger Shelton is a great guy. Very good with all types of people; he's patient and understanding. Dr. Michael Lau is also terrific and a very good surgeon!
