Question:
will insurance still pay

I have a great deal of weight to lose.175 lbs.I am on a Physician supervised diet now to lose some weiht before surgery..I want to be in the best condition i can for surgery....I am just afraid that my insurance will say NO because I am losing and if I can lose this way then why should they approve surgery...I am using this diet to prepare my eating habits for the post surgery and also to help relieve my body so that I may come through the surgery better...I just don't want to Jeopardize the insurance co denying me.do you suppose they will...there are blood tests and urine tests involved in this diet which are all picked up by my insurance co...Thank you    — Christine C. Hi, Christine. Losing weight so that you'll have an easier time at surgery is SO smart, and I don't think the insurance company should use that against you in any way. In fact, it could save them thousands of dollars...minimizing post-op complications is the goal. Like you said, losing a few pounds for surgery and losing a 175 lbs. forever is a totally different ballgame. Best wishes on your road to success!
