Question:
C-Section - Belly Hangs Over, Anyone get this to correct itself after weight loss?

Hi, Back in 1991 before gaining most of my weight I had a c-section. Ever since then the weight that I gained has "flopped over" my scar and hung. Now that I am losing weight I notice that my belly is feeling "looser" but I'm hoping that the "overhang" will go away. I am exercising 3X per week at Curves and trying to get in enough water. I know these will help with things like loose skin on arms, etc. But am I doomed to have a tummy tuck because of my c-section scar? (It runs hip to hip low above my pubic bone) I'd love to hear from anyone who's had success or not! - Lap RNY 2/20/02 lost 55 lbs. since consult on 1/15/02, 44 since surgery.    — Laura B. Hi Laura, I also had a c-section but in '93. I have the exact same problem. There is a 'tuck' at the scar line that is tight and everything else above it flops over. It is better since I have lost weight, or deflated, but the skin is there and hangs. I am 28 lbs. to goal and I don't see it getting any better. Its not bad enough to 'qualify' for a tt, I may just have to start saving my money. Maybe by the time it is saved it will have tightened up a bit, but I won't hold my breath. It's really not THAT bad, but not something to show off if you know what I mean. I'm just glad its de-flated instead of in-flated!
