I had LAP RNY on 6-23-04. I paid all costs and here is how it breaks down: $15000 hospital $ 5200 Dr $ 750 Nutritionist &1600 Anastiliologist (sp?) $300 phyc eval radiology etc have not come in yet, cost unsure. these are costs for Texas, costs fluctuate from dr to dr. When I was calling around, I got quotes from $22000 up to $35000 for the same proceedure all within a 70 mile radious. the most important factor should be whether your DR is good, he has his life in your hands. Good luck on you search, Ramona

My total bill was over $40,000! However $26,000 was for a 44 hour hospital stay. Ridiculous. I'm not sure what they did that cost that much money. :) I had to have pre-op tests, 6 weeks of pre-op special diet that cost $125 a week. So it all added up. I think after insurance I probably paid $2500 out of pocket. I'm located in Northern Indiana. K. Amy Lap RNY 9/24/03 -122

I don't know what they charge for self-payers, but my surgeon submitted approx. $16,000 to Oxford.
