Question:
What happens if your white count is elevated?

My preops were done Monday. The nurse called me today and said my white cell count was at 16. So I went and had a CBC and a urinalysis done. The ua was fine, and the white count had gone down to 13. I just finished a round of an antibiotic, Augmentin. Do you think they will still do the surgery? I have no breathing problems and I'm not running a fever...HEEEEEEELLPPPPP!    — Donna S. C. Elevated white blood count usually means that you have some kind of an infection going on. Your body increases the number of wbc to fight off infetion. They are like a little army that gets bigger when an infetion is invading you.
