Question:
How often after surgery should we be getting our labs done?

My doc requires labs done at 3 months, 6 months one year and every year thereafter.

We are every 3 months for life. I didn't want to push my luck with my ins, so after about 4 yrs, we went to 6 months. I LIKE 3 months better, makes me feel in more control, personally.

I get my labs done "at Least" every 3 months and I am 2 years post op. Of course, I have problems so they are needed. I get my iron done once a month right now. I would never ever let it go for a whole year before having them done. That would give my body much too long to get messed up. Once every 6 months is the most I would go at this point, knowing what I do.
