Question:
Anyone have to have a feeding tube in for 4 weeks or more

My Dr. leaves a feeding tube to your stomach in for 5 wks post op. Mine is causing a great deal of pain, but they say that is normal. It hurts so much to bend over or to sit up for an extended period of time    — Debbi W. (posted on April 18, 2001)

Hi! I loved my feeding tube. I probably kept it for 4 months. It was so easy to pour the protein in, and get in enough fluids. I was very sorry when I ask my Dr. to remove it. I was parinoid of being able to pour my pain meds in it too easy, and was using it as a crutch. I am a nurse. I had always taken care of G-Tube patients. I have never heard of it causing pain. I would call the Dr., and inform him, this is not normal. Good Luck, and God Bless You --

I only had my feeding tube in for two weeks and I hated it. I found it didn't hurt so bad if you taped it so it couldn't move. I don't think I could have taken it for five weeks.
