Question:
I am going to see the Pulminary (sp?) doctor this afternoon

What should I expect when I go see the pulminary (dr?). What type of test will the perform? Thank you    — Heather K. (posted on July 27, 2000)

My surgeon referred me to a pulmonologist. Basically, he took a medical history, had 2 chest x-rays taken, and had me do some air flow testing for him (breathing into a little computerized program). Because I have breathing problems (seasonally aggravated asthma) and because I didn't use my inhalers before I went to see him, he had me do the test first, then use my inhalers, and repeat the test. He then referred me to a cardiologist for an Echocardiogram, because he was concerned about the swelling in my ankles and lower calves. But nothing he did was painful =)
