Question:
pain to mid chest bones with yawning, sneezing, and hiccups 1wk post op

I have a deep dull aching pain to my mid sternal area that radiates to the center of my back. The pain only occurs when I yawn, sneeze, or hiccup. Otherwise I feel fine no shortness of breath or anything else. I am 12 days post op and have had some early problems of nausea and vomiting the first couple of days but have since been fine. The pain almost feels like the pain you feel immediately after surgery when doing breathing excercises with incentive spirometry.    — Lyann L. (posted on August 5, 2005)

I had lots of lung problems post-op, what you are describing sounds similar to what I felt when I was building up fluid on my lungs and what if felt like just after one of them had been drained after a thoracentesis procedure. If it persists, call your surgeon or PCP and let them know. Best wishes to you.
