Question:
anyone else needed a revision for gastric ulcer bleeding

I have had gastric pain ever since i had my rny. told to eat more frequently and prescribed protonex Now over the last 6 months I have had 4 scopes to stop the gastric bleed. I also don't absord iron and have to get periodic iron transfusions    — Karen J. (posted on July 29, 2005)

Have you tried Nexium? My ulcers did not bleed, but Protonex did nothing for mine, Nexium is the only drug that helped. I also altered my diet to include about 50% raw food. (veggies, fruits..blah blah) I would definatly seek out several medical opinions on this issue. According to my current physician, I underwent an unnecessary ulcer removal surgery because my then surgeon did not explore all possibilites. Good luck to you.

I had a bleeding ulcer for 3 years after my surgery that I recently had to have removed and my whole surgery redone. Now I'm a lot thinner than I wanted to be. I think that my problem was a result of an alcohol addiction after surgery. They tried every medication but nathing would help.
